I haven’t done a Track of the Day/Nite in awhile but it’s a slow week for music. This is one of my favorite beats ever, produced by the legendary hippy himself Mike Dean. I think I would rank Mike Dean in the top 5 greatest southern producers ever.

Sunday, March 15th, 2009The DJ has a new found respect for Mike Jones. I DJ’d a show he did in KC and oddly enough, this nigga showed up with NO SHOW CD. Who the hell does that? I think he lost his or something. He asked me if I had a bunch of his tracks and luckily I had like 3 or 4. After he performed Still Tippin, Back Then, and a few of his other well known tracks, we still had alot some time left so I just mixed in a bunch of texas instrumentals and Mike freestyled for like 45 minutes. He went off the top on the Pac Man beat, Southside, 25 Lighters, Stanky Leg, and a few other joints. It was pretty dope. I wish I had some footage but its kinda hard to DJ and film shit at the same time lol. So anyway, salute to Mike Jones…
